What is Hospice????
One definition is compassionate, comprehensive care for the terminally ill.
I like to say HOSPICE means; Having Opportunities to Serve People Individually with Caring Excellence. That is my quote. Our hospice provides support to families in their homes, at the hospice house, in nursing facilities, and in hospitals in Lynchburg and the surrounding counties. Esentially it is a 60 mile radius from Virginia Baptist Hospital. Our team is made up of a Medical Director, Nurses, Social Workers, Pharmacists, CNA's, Chaplains, and VOLUNTEERS! Our volunteers do things like; helping in the office, visiting patients and/or families to offer support, special events like; our annual cookie-a-thon where last year they baked over 3,000 cookies, and of course the community event of the year, the Rainbow of Hope Quilt Auction project!
